From Brighton, with heart
Our founder, Ed, discovered the feel-good energy of cacao at an ecstatic dance event in Brighton. Ecstatic dance is a sober, holistic experience of the intersection between music, community and dance. Cacao is a big part of these events as it uses the heart-opening and uplifting energetic properties of cacao to foster a safe space of shared experience and connection.
Ed was compelled to learn more about cacao and started integrating it as part of a health-focussed and wellness routine into his busy, day-to-day life. He soon wondered: “why isn’t cacao available everywhere?”
It was this thought that led to the conception of Cacao Co.; creating a community for all, connected by cacao.

Our cacao is ethically sourced from Peru. We hand-grind and package the cacao with care, doing our small part in honouring its sacred lineage and the wisdom of the communities who have shared their knowledge of cacao for generations.
As a small business at the beginning of our journey, we want to be transparent that we are working towards our goal of sourcing our cacao directly from co-operative farms and communities at the heart of cacao’s origins. We approach this journey with curiosity, honesty and we invite you to learn and grow alongside us as we deepen our understanding together.
